About the role
The overall mission of the BDM is to coordinate business relationships and grow sales at UK level with Distributors, Installers and End Users.
He/she will establish a close cooperation with the central decision makers within these companies to get Carrier fire products approved and drive possible large deals and key project sales opportunities to success.
He/she will also need to support the other members of the UK&I Sales Team as required.
Key Responsibilities:
As a Business Development Manager , you’ll be responsible for:
- build and maintain long term business relationship with central and local functions within the customers
- identify new growth opportunities and define and implement sales initiatives to capture this potential
- team with local sales operations (country management, pre-sales and post-sales engineers, …) to propose, drive and manage local sales initiatives
- account relationship and sales
- negotiate and manage contracts together with Legal team
- setup and host formal events (business review, contract review, product introduction, market feedback, product requirements, etc…) to facilitate relationship and sales
- own commercial sales reporting on accounts
- in charge of internal communication on account evolution, news, sales, contacts, strategy towards Sales Director – Fire, UK&I through mail push and salesforce.com
transfer leads from small and medium installers to the selected distribution partners
- achieving the annual account sales targets
- managing the account relationships
- find new accounts
- business reporting (sales reporting, sales forecasting,, meeting reports, account information, etc...)
- cooperating, communicating and liaising with the other UK functions
- supporting account queries as necessary

Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of experience in security & safety industry
- Proven sales experience, necessarily including major account management at national level
- Strong channel management skills and experience, ie direct and distribution
- Technical background
- Enthusiastic and creative personality with hands-on mentality, result oriented and willing to work both as part of a team and on own initiative
- Strong interpersonal and communication (verbal and written) skills: ability to negotiate at various levels, from technician to C-level, solid reporting experience, …
- Good organizational and process skills
- Strong time management skills
- PC literacy, mastering PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Outlook
- Excellent working knowledge of the English language
- Driving license and valid passport.
