About this role
We are seeking a motivated, results-oriented student to join our team in Palm Beach Gardens, FL, for the summer of 2024. The Carrier internship experience offers interns an environment that provides practical, challenging, and meaningful on-the-job work experience and the opportunity to apply knowledge and demonstrate strengths in efforts to assist Carrier Refrigeration in achieving its business strategy.
Key Responsibilities
As a Strategy & Business Development intern, you will gain experience that includes, but is not limited to, activities and tasks listed below:
- Working with the strategic business units in Carrier Refrigeration to conduct and coordinate market research in areas such as segment analysis, segmentation, customer needs, etc.
- Analyzing industry structure, business models, competitive dynamics, technology trends, and market/segment attractiveness
- Assessing the near-mid-long-term implications of changes in customer needs, regulation, technology innovation, channel dynamics, etc.
- Assisting in strategy development by identifying the critical strategic questions for each business and defining / refining "where to play" and "how to win" and articulate the resulting actions to drive growth, improve profitability, and sustain competitive advantage
- Supporting the planning and execution of ad hoc strategic projects in the areas of transport refrigeration, digital & connected cold chain solutions, sustainability, and commercial refrigeration
- Identifying and assessing inorganic growth opportunities, including helping to build upon the current acquisition pipeline
- Coordinating with internal and external stakeholders in the planning and execution of project deliverables
Required Qualifications
- Pursuing Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, or a related field of study
- 3.0 or higher GPA
- Must be eligible to work in the US without sponsorship
Preferred Qualifications
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
- Relevant coursework or previous internship experience
- Experience building financial models (Excel), conducting market analysis, analyzing product/market opportunities, and performing business assessments
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Self-driven and proactive
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities
- Ability to communicate effectively at all levels
- Team player and willing to collaborate with others on projects
