About this role
ALC has an opportunity for a Quality Engineer to join our team in Kennesaw GA. Duties will include but are not limited to data analysis and reporting, quality audits, and non-conforming investigations.
This is an onsite opportunity.
Key Responsibilities
- Review, report and analyze data to assess quality issue trends, also monthly quality metric data collection, analysis, and reporting.
- Lead investigations and leverage root cause analysis methodologies, to assess quality issues and come up with corrective measures.
- Analyze and make recommendations for corrective actions (CAPA) for non-conformities and/or design problems leading to quality issues for internally produced products & processes.
- Utilize PPAP core elements (e.g., PFMEA, MSA, Process Flow, Control Plans, etc.) to identify and make recommendations for managing risk in new product development.
- Facilitate production of non-conforming materials control process and Material Review Board (MRB), to reduce major scrap, rework, and reject cost.
- Support the implementation programs to improve overall quality metrics like COPQ, first pass yield, and external customer returns (CEPPM).
- Work closely with Engineering, Supply Chain, and Production and planning on all stages of Engineering change orders and production deviations.
- Review process control documentation to ensure it follows requirements, objectives, and/or customer requirements (contracts).
- Act as a quality support in the organization’s auditing function by participating in external and internal (e.g., ISO 9001, Layered process audits)
- Advocate for a process-focused approach for all functions, and drive culture change from a reactive approach to a proactive approach
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree
- 2+ years of experience in Quality Engineering, Quality Management or Quality Assurance
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering
- Experience in a Quality Engineering role in manufacturing
- Quality certifications (e.g., CQE, CQA) and/or Six Sigma certifications (Green Belt)
- Knowledge of ISO and IEC regulations (e.g., Design Controls, Risk Management)
- Analytical and organizational skills, attention to detail, drive and execute projects, and ability to problem-solve.
- Technical writing proficiency to create, review, and approve protocols/reports, work instructions, forms, and SOPs
- Knowledge and experience in data analysis (statistics), supplier quality metrics, non-conformance tracking, design for manufacturability, cost of poor quality, warranty, root cause analysis, and GD&T.
- Proficiency in SAP, Minitab, MS Office & Power BI
- English written and verbal communication skills
- Open attitude for continuous improvement
- Perform under stress and meet project timelines, work cooperatively and respectfully with others, to lead others using project planning skills and documentation
